Pastor Mike and Linda Hammonds
Second only to our family is our call to pastoral ministry.
Linda and I have two grown children Tera (Brandon) and Cale (Hollie) who have blessed us with 6 wonderful grandchildren. Our love for our children and grandchildren make us realize the importance of family and the need to have Jesus Christ as the bond that holds a family together through the difficulties of life. It won’t take you long to discover how important our spiritual family is to us as well.
We have been privileged to serve 1 Church in the North Denver area for the past 11 yrs. This is our spiritual family. We believe the church is not a building but rather a community of believers who come together to love, worship and serve God and to love and serve others as well. This community is a gift to the world to help people discover just how much God loves them and desires for them to live the good life, even in a chaotic world. Jesus said in Jn. 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy but I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” Jer. 29:11 says “I know the plans I have for you says the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a future filled with hope.” God clearly declares that He has a plan for you to live The Good Life. That life is revealed through the life and teachings of His Son Jesus Christ, found in the Word of God. Our goal is to help you connect with God through Christ so you can discover and live The Good Life.
Linda and I are both proud alumni of Lee University (Cleveland, TN) with studies in Pastoral Ministry. I went on to earn an M.Div. from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (Cleveland, TN). I did my doctoral studies through the D.Min. Program at Denver Seminary in Church and Parachurch Executive Leadership. I also have an undergraduate degree in Human Services from Gadsden State (Gadsden, AL) and completed 1 yr. studies in the M.B.A. Program at University of Phoenix (Nashville, TN). Nevertheless, the practical education of serving in pastoral ministry has been the most challenging yet most rewarding training we have received. Together, these have prepared us to lead 1 Church through a "re-birthing" or “re-visioning” stage of ministry. Ministry should always be fluid in order to allow God’s Spirit to help us remain relevant to the times and culture in which we live. We believe God is leading us with a fresh new vision of ministry for our community in such a time as this.
Linda and I enjoy living out our pastoral calling with the people of 1 Church and we invite you to come experience what God is doing in our community. Come join us and together we will discover and live the good life God has planned and provided for us to live.
Peace and Joy!!!
